WaterAid Rwanda

WaterAid is an international non-governmental organization founded in 1981 and focused on improving poor people’s access to safe water, hygiene and sanitation in developing countries. WaterAid Rwanda is one of the 38 Country Programmes of WaterAid around the world and it was officially registered and started operating in Rwanda in 2010. Our work in schools focuses on promoting hygiene practices in schools through School Hygiene Clubs; provision of inclusive sanitation facilities including latrines and Menstrual Hygiene Management Rooms as well as increasing access to water through connection of schools to existing Water Supply Systems or construction of underground rainwater harvesting systems. WaterAid also empower schoolchildren as WASH advocates through different method such as drama, WASH Journals, etc.
