Innovation for Education, launching on 4 September 2012, will offer the opportunity for Rwanda to test new ideas that demonstrate effective and equitable ways of improving children’s learning. Civil society and the private sector will be supported to pilot innovative projects with the potential to be adopted by the Government of Rwanda and implemented on a nation-wide scale.
Projects will focus on improving the quality of education within one or more of six thematic areas:Â accountability and empowerment; inclusive education; climate change and environment; effective teaching and learning; skills development; and use of appropriate technologies in education.
The call for Expressions of Interest opens on 4 September 2012, with a closing date of Wednesday 19 September 2012. Projects will begin from December 2012 and will be supported for just over two years.
