VVOB is a Belgian organisation which focuses on promoting quality of education. The organization goal is to sustainably improve the quality, efficiency and effectiveness of education and training in developing countries. Its moto Education for Development reveals its overall ambition to contribute to a fairer world with increased opportunities for all.

VVOB implements programmes in Vietnam, Cambodia, the Democratic Republic of Congo, Ecuador, Rwanda, South Africa, Suriname and Zambia.

In Rwanda, VVOB has been implementing projects and programmes since 2003. The organization is providing strategic support and capacity development to Rwanda Education Board and the University of Rwanda College of Education, both on teacher professional development (pre-and in-service) and school leadership.

Currently, VVOB Rwanda implements a multi-year programme (2017-2021) on Leading, Teaching and Learning Together”Umusemburo w’Ireme ry’Uburezi. In line with Sustainable Development Goal 4 – to provide inclusive and equitable quality education for all male and female learners the programme aims to advance the implementation of the Competence-based Curriculum through School Leadership and Induction of New Teachers in Basic Education, in 17 Districts (both in primary and secondary education).
