The Rwanda Education Commons (REC) is a four-year program funded by USAID and implemented by FHI360 to promote the effective use of ICTs in education. Since REC opened its office within MINEDUC in January 2009, it has worked to expand teachers’ access to quality resources, to connect educators with each other, and to inspire and empower teachers. During the course of the program REC successfully connected almost every Teacher Training College to the internet, facilitated the development of a Ministry of Education IT in Education policy and developed an education portal housing a library of teacher resources and discussion board for teachers.
