The British Council is the United Kingdom’s international organisation for educational opportunities and cultural relations. We have been recognised as a world leader in English teaching since our creation and we have an unrivaled record in the provision of support to governments wishing to improve the teaching and learning of English in their systems and institutions. Our work in Rwanda includes:

• English Language Teaching
• Supporting Rwanda Education Board with technical assistance in prioritising English as the language of instruction in schools
• Connecting Classrooms – building partnerships between schools in Sub Saharan Africa and the UK

The British Council also offers an exams service:
• IELTS: the International English language Testing System which tests English proficiency across the globe (www.takeielts.britishcouncil.org)
• ACCA – Association of Chartered Certified Accountants
• UK university exams for international students
